Volvo Customs Department was Opened in Kaluga


On August 29, an opening ceremony of Volvo Customs Department took place at the plant of Volvo Group in Kaluga. 

Anatoly Zrelov, Head the Kaluga Excise Customs Post, Vladimir Popov, Minister for Economic Development of the Kaluga Region, Christian Sward, Senior Vice President of Volvo for Logistics, and Peter Anderson, CEO of CJSC Volvo-Vostok took part in the ceremony.

Volvo invested in the project EUR 4.7 million. The total area of the facilities is 15,000 square meters, 2,000 square meters of which relate to the customs clearance area. With commissioning of Volvo Customs Department in Kaluga, the term of customs clearance will reduce from two days (in 2010) to 8.5 hours per unit of the cargo that undergoes customs clearance.

15 job places were created at the moment when the Customs Department was opened and this quantity would increase to 30 by 2013.
